IN THE NAME OF ALLAH

The ideology of Islam is to create brotherhood and spread peace all around the world. Sadly, this beautiful message has not been done justice by an Islamist jihadi group, ISIS, who claims that the group represents the restoration of the Caliphate of early Islam, with all the political, religious and eschatological ramifications that this would imply.
ISIS is an extremist rebel group controlling territory in Iraq and Syria. The group proclaimed itself to be a worldwide caliphate with Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi being named its caliph. Since its formation in 1999, ISIS is now increasingly being viewed as a militia rather than a terrorist group. But what brought them to the world's attention was the activities undertaken by them in the name of Allah. The slaughter of the common people is carried out by ISIS militia without a flicker of shame or guilt. Driven by what this group sees as divine command and devastation only thought possible in films, the Islamic militant group has pushed the definition of terrorism and barbarism to a whole new and scary level.
The shocking fact is these hideous act are executed by the people who claim to be devout Muslims. They also claim that they are merely ‘following’ their holy scripture 'Quran' and that they are the true followers of Prophet Mohammed. The militants go about their business by beheading innocent people and only minutes later, they all go and join each other in a humble prayer to god. This demonstration has to be seen to be believed about how religion, an institution that should unite humans in peace, can turn into a license for lawless slaughter. Written thousands years back, Quran narrates stories relating to daily life of that time. ISIS believes in literally adopting the sayings by heart and applying them in current life and affairs. ISIS flag shows the Seal of Muhammad within a white circle, with the phrase above it, “There is no God but Allah.” The ISIS has attracted extremists from different parts of the world by promoting the image of a holy war.
ISIS could be a peril to Islam’s reputation and future around the world. If the group of people claiming themselves to be the ‘true devotees of Allah’ have the driven passion to spread Caliphate in the world and kill Non-Muslims in the most barbaric ways possible, imagine the impression these same people are giving about their Holy Book Quran and its teachings to the rest of the world. The acts will grievously hamper the reputation of global peace across religions and Islam. Islam will be looked down upon because of few nitwits who have misinterpreted the true meaning of the verses of the Quran and are causing havoc round the world. This gives rise to the need for a serious change of perception which needs to be undertaken by high profile Muslim scholars to at least purify Hadith (sayings) from tons of controversies and avoiding any more Islamist groups coming up.
The task of dismantling the ISIS' bad ideas and dangerous misunderstandings of ‘divine command’ is the vital battle that should be fought by the entire human race, standing as one power.
